Coningsby Reserves 1-3 Tetford FC

Coningsby Reserves threw everything they had at Tetford on Saturday , but a lack of accuracy and luck saw them go down 3-1 in Boston League Division 2.

With just 10 minutes elapsed a Tetford forward couldn’t believe his luck when his long ball bounced unexpectedly clean over Coningsby goalie Andy Yeomans and it needed only a tap to take it the last yard into the net.

The visitors scored their second in the 36th minute with a long volley from right of goal causing the Reds to switch into serious fight back mode, but it wasn’t until two minutes before the break when the chance came.

Sam Brader booted a beautiful long ball into the Tetford net, which somehow avoided lots of legs on the way.

In the second half Coningsby threw everything into getting the equaliser, but they just couldn’t find the accuracy to finish although Lukas Payne did manage to rattle the visitors’ woodwork.

In the last 15 minutes Coningsby pulled just about everyone forward for an all out assault leaving just one defender to help the goalie, but this still didn’t give them the goal they deserved for all their effort.

In the last minute of the match a group of Tetford forwards managed to break away in a fast charge easily defeating the meagre defence for the coup de grace.
