In-form striker Mickey Stones is set to miss Horncastle Town’s Lincolnshire Junior Cup clash against Benington at The Wong tomorrow (Saturday), kick off 1.30pm.
Stones has made a big impact on his return to Town from Boston United, scoring four goals in just three appearances.
However, the experienced hit-man is unavailable for the showdown with Boston League Benington - leaving a vacancy in attack.
Boss Paul Johnson will also have to make another change because key utility player Nathan Rawdon is also missing.
Fortunately, Town have plenty of cover with the likes of Callum Low and Danny Bent among the players pushing for a starting place.
Town will go into the clash as favourites after an impressive run of form that has seen them move to within two points of leaders Skegness Town in the race for the Sills and Betteridge League title.
Town boosted their challenge last week with a 4-0 demolition of Market Rasen at The Wong with all the goals coming in the second half.
Stones was among the players on target while leading scorer Michael Harness bagged a brace to boost his tally for the season.
All Town’s strikers have impressed this term but Johnson has also been delighted with the improved form of his defence - and keeper Lewis Burchnall who pulled off some outstanding stops last week.
*Town’s reserves don’t have a game tomorrow.
