Coningsby Reserves 1-0 Kirton Town Reserves

A mediocre 85 minutes may not have thrilled the fans, but Coningsby Reserves did seal the win at home to Kirton Town Reserves in Boston League Division Two on Saturday.

Just five minutes after kick-off Coningsby’s Sam Brader found himself in exactly the right place to tap in a rebound off the Kirton ‘keeper.

At this point the game settled into a period of mediocrity with the visitors running around at high speed, stealing the ball then failing to do anything with it while the Reds just couldn’t put any passing moves together.

This state of play continued well into the second half until the home team at last got their act together and started making good scoring chances.

Unfortunately these did not achieve a great deal apart from giving the Kirton goalie some welcome exercise to combat the wind-chill.

The game was not one to remember but Coningsby will be pleased to have come away with the three points.
