FOOTBALL: Mareham United easily beaten by Benington

Mareham United conceded three goals as they were soundly beaten by Benington in the Boston Taylors Garages Premier Division.

After narrowly being knocked out of the Willoughby Cup last weekend the Fieldsiders were hoping to bounce back against a side who had lost two games in a row.

The defeat leaves Mareham in 11th place ahead of Old Doningtonians and Freiston.

An extra time goal for Skegness Town Reserves knocked Woodhall Spa United out of the Willoughby Cup.

The two sides were level at 1-1 after 90 minutes, but the Skegness side took the win with their goal in extra time.

In Division One Coningsby fell to their third straight defeat at the hands of Freiston Reserves.

They will be hoping to bounce back this weekend as they take on Billinghay Athletic Reserves at home in the Willoughby Shield.

Woodhall Spa United welcome Pointon Reserves in their league fixture.

Coningsby Reserves were beaten by bottom of the table Fishtoft Reserves in Division Two.

The win took Fishtoft off the foot of the league at Mareham United Reserves’ expense as they dropped into the relegation spot.

The Fieldsiders travel to face Fishtoft Reserves in the Willoughby Shield and Coningsby Reserves welcome Billinghay Athletic Reserves in the cup competition.

In Division Three AFC Tetford took the spoils in a five goal thriller at Pointon A.

Tetford took the points in a 3-2 win.

They travel to second-bottom Holbeach Reserves this weekend.
