Mareham United saw their dreams of Willougby Cup glory dashed by a 3-2 first round defeat against Boston and District League rivals Park United.

United went into the clash as favourites but failed to make the most of home advantage and it was their Sibsey based rivals who came out on top to go through to the next round.

Woodhall Spa’s quarter final clash at Skegness Town Reserves in the same competition was postponed.

In Division One, Coningsby lost 5-2 at Skegness United Reserves and are now in seventh place in the table with 20 points from 16 games. It was their eighth defeat of the campaign.

Coningsby’s Reserves enjoyed better fortunes in Division Two when they won a hard fought derby against Mareham United Reserves 1-0.

The victory moved Coningsby into ninth place and left Mareham struggling in next-to-bottom spot.

There was a curtailed programme in Division Three and Tetford AFC were without a game, leaving them second in the table, 11 points behind unbeaten leaders Boston College.
