Horncastle Town U16s stepped up their challenge for a top four place in Division C of the Mid Lincs League with a convincing win at Thurlby Tigers on Sunday.

Town hit top form to record a 4-0 victory which moved them within sight of rivals Market Rasen, Birchwood Colts, Heckington Juniors and Saxilby in the top half of the table.

Town U15s weren’t as fortunate and were on the wrong end of a 10-2 battering at Division C rivals Swifts.

The U14s didn’t have a game while the U13s produced one of their best displays of the campaign to grab a 4-2 win at high flying Mablethorpe.

The U11s saw their hopes of a sixth win of the season dashed by a narrow 3-2 defeat at Grimsby Borough.

Happily, the U-9s enjoyed better luck as they beat Welton 2-0 at home.

Saturday action didn’t appear to suit Town’s U12s who remain bottom of the Division A table after a 9-0 defeat at home to leaders Ruston Sports.
