Barrowby U15s 2 Horncastle Town U15s 0

Town U15s saw their hopes of back-to-back wins disappear against a well organised Barrowby side on Sunday.

Both sides had chances in front of goal but it was Barrowby who made the most of their openings to clinch the spoils.

Town, looking to build on last week’s victory against Market Rasen, were not at their best but still showed plenty of determination.

The first half started evenly with both sides going close, but Barrowby took the lead after 20 minutes following good work down the left.

For the rest of the half, Town controlled the game but were unable to draw level while with Barrowby rarely threatened.

The second half started in similar style with Town having more of the ball.

However, Barrowby put the game to bed in the 65th minute, scoring a second after their forward finished after receiving a cross field ball.

Barrowby almost scored again minutes later when a shot hit the bar and bounced down back onto the goal line, but their forward could only then manage to head the ball over the top.

The last 10 minutes saw Town attempt to break through but they did not generate any clear chances and suffered a disappointing result.

n Town U14s were also out of luck as they lost 2-1 at Pointon Juniors but the U12s made the most of home advantage to win 2-0 against HBW Bees.
