FOOTBALL: Horncastle Town look for friendly boost

Horncastle Town boss Paul Johnson could give a number of first team regulars a much needed run out in a friendly against North Somercotes at The Wong tonight (Tuesday), ko: 7.30pm.

Town have not played since before Christmas but will kick-start their challenge for the Sills and Betteridge League title at home to Nettleham on Saturday.

Johnson is keen to allow his players to brush off the cob webs after the enforced break over Christmas and New Year.

At the same time, he will be keen to avoid injuries to key players ahead of that Nettleham clash.

With Town out of action, title favourites Skegness Town have opened up a six point lead at the top of the table.

Town, though, have a game in hand and will be hoping the likes of Mickey Stones, Tony Edwards, Michael Harness and Richard Jackson can help fire a title challenge.
