Horncastle Town will be looking to bounce back to winning ways tomorrow (Saturday) when the kick off their Lincolnshire County Cup campaign with a first round tie at Billinghay Athletic.
It promises to be a tough test for boss Paul Johnson and his squad who are still licking their wounds after a 4-1 defeat at home to Skegness Town last Saturday in the group stages of the Supplementary Cup.
Johnson will want to check on the availability of several key players including defender Steve Brown whose red card after just 20 minutes of that Skegness clash delivered a blow to Town’s hopes.
Chris Johnson, who pulled out just before the kick off last week, could return while the likes of Tony Edwards, Michael Harness and Darren Bent will be hoping to retain their places.
Town’s Reserves are also in cup action tomorrow when they entertain Lincoln and District Saturday League rivals Retford Town at The Wong.
Town will go into the clash as favourites after making an impressive start to the new league season.
They are currently second in the table with three wins and two draws from their five games while Retford have managed just three points to date.
