Horncastle Town’s opponents in round three of the Lincolnshire FA Junior Cup will be one the favourites.

To make matters worse, the fixture is away at the Lincoln-based club, Birchwood United.

Birchwood, who play in the Lincoln and District League, caused the upset of the second round when they beat 2013/14 winners Moulton Harrox 3-2.

As for Town, a bye was awarded in the opening round of the competition. Then last Saturday, a Michael Harness brace and a goal from Carl Smith saw them overcome Alford Town 3-0 to secure the team a place in the hat.

The cup tie is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, with a 1.30pm kick off at Birchwood Leisure Centre.

AFC Louth host Cleethorpes Town Development Squad, while Ruston Sports, who were finalists in 2014, entertain Limestone Rangers in the last 32.

Wyberton have an all-Lincolnshire League encounter at CGB Humbertherm, while holders Hykeham Town host Swineshead Institute.

Skegness Town have again been drawn away to Boston League Premier Division opposition Benington FC. Elsewhere in the draw, Skegness United also have an away tie to look forward to. They travel to either Louth Old Boys or Scunthorpe-based Brumby.
