It was a great start to the new season at the Leisure Leagues Six-a-side Football League at Horncastle Playing Fields Astroturf, with last season’s champions AC a Little Silhouetto of Milan receiving their winners’ trophy, medals, champagne and other Leisure Leagues merchandise.

Richard Hall was chosen over Daniel Burn as the player of the season for the league due to some crucial goals over the course of the season and he was presented with his medal and an invitation for a trial to the England six-a-side team.

Ginger Gaffer received their runners-up medals in their new kits from their new sponsor, whilst Bantalona (formerly Bad Intentions) received the wooden spoon pennant despite finishing second bottom over Ivory Toast, due to them participating all season.

Ginger Gaffer were unable to banish last week’s agonising draw against Bantalona and were again held 0-0 by the heroics of Graham Fidling in the Bantlona goal. as they opened the new season.

Tekkerslovakia comfortably beat Ivory Toast FC 3-0 to get off to a good start to the division, whilst Team Lean were denied top spot after a 5-1 win over Beercelona due to new team Rafcats gaining a 5-0 opening win.

Reigning champions AC a Little Silhouetto of Milan opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw over OGFC who dropped points for the first time since joining the league.
