A first-half hat trick from Coningsby Reserves’ captain propelled his side up the table with an impressive 4-2 win over fourth-placed Swineshead Institute Reserves at the Allan Barker Field.

The visitors took a 1-0 lead after just 30 seconds before Coningsby scored twice in reply in the next 15 minutes.

The Coningsby captain made his hat trick with a superb free kick before new signing Wayne Sweet made it 4-1 on the stroke of half time.

Sweet fired a high shot which bounced and soared over the head of the Swineshead ‘keeper who was caught off his line.

The second half was a different affair as Swineshead pulled out all the stops forcing a number of spectacular saves from Coningsby’s goalkeeper.

They grabbed a consolation goal 10-minutes from time from a right-win cross but Coningsby Reserves held out for their fourth win of the season.
