Horncastle’s Town’s new Development squad will play a pre-season friendly tonight (Wednesday) against local rivals Scamblesby at The Wong (6.30pm).

Town have formed the development squad essentially to help bridge the gap between junior and senior football.

The team will compete in the Lincoln and District League next season - a competition which also includes AFC Harpars, Woodhall Spa and Wragby FC.

Meanwhile, the club’s U13s are due for some match action tomorrow (Thursday) night when they host Welton Bombers in a friendly (ko: 6.15pm).

Town have also confirmed their reserves will play another warm-up game this Saturday at The Wong against the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service (3pm). The Heat and Support Trophy will be at stake.

Town’s first team continue their Sills and Betteridge campaign on Saturday with a trip to champions Skegness Town.
