Coningsby FC came crashing back to earth after their cup exploits when they were beaten by Sleaford Colts in Division One of the Boston and District League last Saturday.

Coningsby went into the clash full of confidence after a stunning 4-2 win against Premier Division Kirton Town in the cup seven days earlier.

However, they struggled to re-produce that form against a determined Sleaford side who posted a 2-0 win.

Coningsby’s reserves were also beaten 8-1 at Kirton Town Reserves in a cup game.

It was a disappointing day for Mareham and Woodhall Spa in the Premier Division.

Mareham’s problems at the foot of the table continued when they were beaten 8-4 at home by Billinghay Athletic.

Woodhall’s hopes of climbing the league table were also dashed when they lost 3-1 at home to Fishtoft.

In Division Three, Tetford were beaten 1-0 at FC Kirton, but Tetford Reserves hit the goal trail to register a fine 5-1 win sat Benington Reserves in a cup game.
