Coninsgby Reserves 5-0 Holbeach Bank

Coningsby Reserves were hosts to Holbeach Bank on the Allan Barker Field on Saturday for their first home league match of the season.

Jamie Todd opened the scoring for the home side after 20 minutes with a fine strike from the left of the penalty box on the volley into the top right-hand corner of the net.

Five minutes later Sam Brader got his name on the score sheet with a cannon off the Holbeach goalie with Danny Cottingham putting a cross into the net on the half hour mark.

Play evened out for the rest of the first half with the visitors managing to hit the Coningsby woodwork a couple of times, but the scoreline was still 3-0 at the break.

With just five minutes of the second half gone Jamie Todd scored a goal that was virtually a mirror image of his first.

Play for the rest of the match was a lot more even than had been seen earlier with both teams playing rhythms on the goal posts, but the game was finally put to rest by Coningsby’s Dwayne Sweet’s contribution in the dying moments of the match.
