Coningsby FC 1, Swineshead Reserves 2.

Coningsby were at home on Saturday for the first time this season, the visitors were Swineshead Reserves.

Six and a half minutes into the game Coningsby’s Sean Taylor put a 20-yard volley into the net following a brief kickabout scrap on the edge of the penalty area.

20 minutes later Swineshead forwards mounted a lightning guerrilla strike and scored in reply. The excitement in the game for the spectators was now all over.

The rest of the game was dominated by the home team, but they lacked the ability to finish from the several opportunities at scoring they created.

The exception was Coningsby’s Danny Whitworth who scored during the second half – unfortunately for the wrong team.
