Dynamic Danny McNamara was the toast of Coningsby FC after he bagged a terrific hat-trick to earn his side an emphatic 6-1 win against Spalding Town in a Boston League fixture.
With a steady supply from a hard-working midfield unit, McNamara ran Spalding’s defence ragged and he could have added to his impressive tally.
The opening ten minutes were a cagey affair as both sides sized each other up and chances were at a premium.
Coningsby started to dominate although Spalding had a couple of chances. However, their own goal lived something of a charmed life as McNamara and Beau Bennett both hit the woodwork.
Coningsby’s efforts paid off and they were three goals to the good at the break.
They added three more in the second half with McNamara completing his hat-trick before the final whistle.
Coningsby Reserves banished the demons of last week’s 12-2 drubbing with an excellent win at much-fancied Sutterton on Saturday.
They ran out 2-1 winners in the Boston League Division Two clash.
