In the Boston Saturday League’s Taylor’s Garages Premier Division, Coningsby left Old Leake with a 7-2 victory.

The hosts held a 1-0 half-time lead courtesy of a James Leafe opener, but a 15-minute second-half spell saw the away side net four times.

Adam Tempest pulled a goal back but Coningsby, who also saw a penalty saved, secured a 7-2 success courtesy of Lee Marshall (three), Carl Wilson, Tom Sewell, Shaun Boothby and Martin Maddison.

In the Taylors Peugeot Division One, Woodhall Spa United looked to be heading for a hard-earned point in their home match against Freiston, but three late goals in the final 15 minutes spoilt their day.

Frazer Bayliss’s double and a Mark Lovelace goal gave Freiston maximum points in a 3-0 away win.

In gusty and showery conditions, Coningsby hosted table toppers Eastern European FC in the Taylors Ford Division Two.

The first half was blessed with sunshine but not goals, although both teams had their chances, only for everyone to get a drenching at half time.

It was the visitors who adapted better to the wet conditions in the second half, scoring twice in spite of Coningsby’s best efforts, and even substitutes could do nothing to balance the books.

Piotr Puchala struck the away side’s goals.

Mareham United produced a decent first-half display in their home match against Fishtoft Reserves and were trailing by just a single goal at the break but, unfortunately for the basement side, they couldn’t maintain their form and they conceded five further goals in the second half to finish on the wrong end of a 6-0 defeat.
