The two Taylors Garages Premier Division sides could again appear to be the teams to beat after finishing first and second respectively last season.

Swineshead beat Skegness Town Reserves 5-1 with Kieran Rose (three), Richard Barker and Ryan Barker on target.

Spilsby left Billinghay Athletic with a 2-1 away win.

Wyberton Reserves enjoyed a 3-0 home win against Ruskington Rovers as Liam Shinn (two) and Tyrone were the matchwinners.

In the Taylors Peugeot Division One, it wasn’t the ideal start Fosdyke were looking for as opponents Boston College proved good value for their 4-1 win.

Boston College’s matchwinners were Nathan Rivett (two), Jamie Dawson and Tom Taylor while Leon Marsh struck the consolation for the depleted home side.

FC Magnet (formerly Nelson) look to be rebuilding - and the last thing they wanted was an early sending off against Swineshead Reserves.

But Stuart Beeson was sent for an early bath, and with it went any hopes of glory as they crashed to a 5-0 home defeat.

Swineshead Reserves’ goals came from Ollie Coulham, Tom Ebberley, Tom Ruck, Andy Bullman and Nathan Cock.

Swineshead A came up against a strong Fishtoft outfit in the Taylors Ford Division Two, suffering an 8-2 defeat on the road.

Although Cameron Cope and Rob Masters struck for Swineshead, Fishtoft were not to be denied scoring freely throughout. The visitor’s cause wasn’t helped by the sending off of Paul Clarke.

Tom Martin was in red-hot form for Fishtoft, hitting four of his side’s goals while Joe Taylor grabbed a hat-trick.

The other home goal came from Owen Morgan.

Newly-promoted Railway Athletic showed their potential in their new division with a 5-1 home win against fellow promotion rivals Eastern European FC.

Nicky Frost hit two of the Railway goals while Billy Shinn, Antoniu Pascu and Liam Nimmo made sure of an impressive start to the campaign while Mateusz Stepien hit a consolation.

FC Kirton won 7-0 as Holbeach Bank provided feeble opposition.

Kirton were boosted by the signing of ex-Westside Rangers players Michael Langley and Jody Betts before kick-off.

Betts scored twice while Langley also got on the scoresheet, but Mitch Bradley took the honours with an opening day hat-trick.

Liam Holland completed the scoring.

New signing Alex Cammack helped soften the crushing blow of losing Division Two’s top goalscorer Shane Brackenbury, who transferred to Leverton two weeks ago.

Cammack hit both goals for his new side as Sibsey recorded a 2-0 home win against Mareham United.

In the Taylors Vauxhall Division Three, Travis Herberts was Spilsby Town Reserves’ goal hero, hitting all four of his side’s goals in a 4-1 home win against Boston Titans.

The Titans’ league baptism proved to be a difficult one and their only reward came in the shape of a Ben Charlton goal.

Callum Parry was also amongst the goals for Spalding Harriers when they came away from FC Boston with an 8-0 victory.

Parry punished the home side with a hat-trick while Aiden Doherty claimed a brace of goals. Peter Kandola, Luke Want and an own goal ensured a happy return journey home for the visitors.

Ryan Newman struck two goals for Friskney Reserves, who were held to a 3-3 draw at home by newcomers Northgate Olympic.

It could have been worse for Friskney as they found themselves trailing 2-0 at the interval and 3-1 after the break.

Victor Sibert grabbed the other Friskney goal.

A rare James Payling goal helped Wyberton A get off to a fine start at Benington Reserves following their 2-1 away win.

Wyberton’s other match-winner was Jimmy Nuttell, while Benington replied through Lewis Mundt.

Pointon A hit eight when they thumped Boston Athletic 8-1 at home to start the season well.
