Woodhall Spa youngsters go close against Lindum

AN outstanding bowling display from Jack Cooke narrowly failed to secure a win for Woodhall Spa CC’s U13s against visiting Lindum.

Woodhall were forced to defend a low total, but an aggressive opening spell from Cooke – who conceded just eight runs from four overs – hauled them back into the contest.

Cooke was backed by some fine fielding with Daniel Evans and Dana Kenealley-Forrester both taking good catches.

Tom Caswell, Nitin Joachim and William Bowser also chipped in with good spells but Lindum scrambled home by four wickets in the last of their 18 overs.

Earlier, Woodhall’s batting let them down after a difficult start to their innings and despite brave efforts from Caswell and Harry Atkinson, they could not post a big enough total.

Woodhall squad: James Bruntlett, Jack Cooke, Daniel Evans, Dana Kenealley-Forrester, Blake Kenealley-Forrester, Ed Atkinson, Harry Atkinson, Jamie Jenkins, Tom Caswell, Nitin Joachim, William Bowser, Sam Cooke.
