Spa youngsters hit trophy trail at presentation

Youngsters at Woodhall Spa Cricket Club celebrated a highly successful campaign at their recent presentation night.

The U-10s and U-11s won their respective league titles while the U-13s - coached by Matt Haslam - clinched a respectable mid-table position in a strong competition.

An added bonus for the U-11s - coached by Simon Caswell - saw them reach the semi finals of the cup.

Batsman Tom Caswell and bowler Archie Coupland leading the way in a terrific effort by the entire squad.

Coaches were delighted with the performances of all the players during the summer as Woodhall’s youth section goes from strength-to-strength.

The aim is to bring players through to the first team squad which operates in the premier competition in the county.

On the evidence of last summer, Woodhall certainly appeatr to have several exciting prospects in the making.

Award winners were:

U-10s; Batting, Ollie Caswell; Bowling, Sam Cooke; Fielding, Will Wright; Players’ player, Dewi Bourke; Manager’s player Adam Brooks.

U-11s: Batting, Tom Caswell; Bowling, Archie Coupland, Fielding, Henry Wilson; Players’ player Tom Caswell; Manager’s player Dana Kenneally-Forrester.

U-13s: Batting, Harry Atkinson; Bowling and Players player, Jack Cooke; Manager’s player, James Brumlett.
