Woodhall Spa Cricket Club’s 1st and 2nd Sunday teams won at the weekend despite only one of the squads taking to the field.

Heighington 1sts conceded their match with Spa Sunday 1sts leaving it to the Sunday 2nds to win at Hougham and Marston 1sts by a whopping nine wickets.

Put in to bowl by the home side, Spa ripped through the hosts batting line-up and dismissed them for just 96, no less than seven batsmen clean bowled in the process as Jack Cooke finished with three wickets and John Temperton, Paul Timby and Jack Luffman finishing with two wickets each and Henry Wilson with one.

In reply Jack Timby fell for just four runs, but with Lewis Holmes and Ben McCarrick at the crease the result was never in doubt as the duo hit 41 apiece to take Spa acroos the finishing line on 97 for 1 in just 17 overs.
