Woodhall Spa batsman Sam Evison has been included in the Lincolnshire squad for their opening game of the 2015 season against Cheshire in the Minor Counties Knockout Trophy at Grantham on Sunday (April 19).

The match is 50 overs per side and starts at 11am. Admission is free.

The qualifying group is particularly strong and in addition to Cheshire, Lincolnshire will play Cumberland, Northumberland and Shropshire.

In recent seasons, Lincolnshire have failed to proceed past the qualifying stage and will be looking to improve on that with a winning start on Sunday.

The Lincolnshire side will be selected from the following squad: D Lucas (capt), K Bansal, C Louth, C Wilson, T Brooks, A Patel, M Carter, D Freeman, A Osmond, S Kelsall, M Weightman, L Robinson, A Willerton, S Evison, L Kimber, R Carnelley

Newcomers to the squad are Sam Kelsall, an opening batsman recently released by Nottinghamshire, Martin Weightman, an attacking all rounder previously having played for Bedfordshire, Alex Willerton, a young pace bowler from Cleethorpes and Louis Kimber, a young opening batsman from Sleaford.
