Woodhall Spa’s in-form batsman Jonny Cheer will miss Lincolnshire’s next Minor Counties Championship match of the season against Cambridgeshire at Wisbech this weekend.
Cheer was outstanding in Lincolnshire’s victory against Northumberland in their recent championship fixture but is unavailble for the Cambridgeshire clash.
He is likely to be replaced by Bourne’s Conrad Louth while Woodhall Spa teammate Matt Sargeant faces a wait to see if his services are required.
Lincolnshire will be looking to build on that terrific win against Northumberland which gained them 24 points.
However, Cambridgeshire will present a strong test for the young Lincolnshire side as they were last season’s Eastern Division champions and currently lead this year’s table by two points.
Lincolnshire’s all round display at Northumberland served them well and apart from Cheer, Kranjit Bansal hit his maiden century for the county and newcomer Luke Robinson again impressed with a half century in each innings.
The bowling attack was well handled by captain David Lucas with Matt Carter and Ben Powell both catching the eye.
The Wisbech pitch is renowned for favouring spin bowling but Lincolnshire are well served in this department with Carter, Alex Osmond and Akhil Patel available.
