Woodhall Spa’s second team could have few complaints after they were comprehensively outplayed by Moulton Harrox on Saturday in a South Lincs and Border League Premier Division game at Jubilee Park.
Chasing a challenging target of 197, Woodhall were never really in the hunt and crashed to 70 all out with extras (20) the joint top scorer.
It was a much different story for Moulton, who soon made Woodhall skipper Rob Bee regret the decision to ask them to bat first.
Lewis Holmes did rip out opener Jsavck Cusack for a duck, but consistent batting down the order - led by Matt Barnett (56), Chris Beale (62) and Rob Sexton (22 not out) - kept the board ticking over.
Bee turned to six different bowlers, including himself, but the pick was Tom Dixon who took 5-37 off 12 overs. Holmes finished with 3-48 from 11.
Woodhall’s hopes of a confident start to their reply were soon in tatters with Bee, Dixon, Ben McCarrick and Matthew Haslam all back in the tent for single figure scores.
That start set the pattern for the rest of the innings and only Henry Wilson (13) and Holmes (20) offered resistance with Matt Cusack (5-17) doing most of the damage.
