Horncastle Cricket Club will be aiming to end a worrying slump when they entertain Cleethorpes Seconds in Division One of the Lincolnshire County League at Coronation Walk on Saturday.

Defeat against Scunthorpe Town last Saturday left skipper Nick Paige and his young side anchored in next-to-bottom place in the table.

Outstanding bowling from Brody Willerton bowled out Scunthorpe for 115 but Horncastle’s suspect batting was once again found wanting and they crashed to 105 all out.

Paige will be hoping he - and the rest of his side - can put more runs on the board against Cleethorpes.

The visitors have won nine of their 16 games this season to hold fourth spot while Horncastle are still searching for what would be their second victory.

*Horncastle are also in action at Coronation Walk on Sunday when they face Old Lincolnians in Division Three of the Chattertons McKinnells League.

The side put on their Sunday best last weekend to beat Bracebridghe Heath seconds in a thriller with Rob Bee turning in a fine all round display.
