CRICKET: Paige the key as Horncastle look for first win

Horncastle Cricket Club will be looking for their first win of the season when they entertain Bracebridge Heath seconds at Coronation Walk tomorrow (Saturday).

It has been a frustrating start to the new County League Division One campaign for skipper Nick Paige and his players.

They lost their opening match at home to Haxey seconds and saw last Saturday’s visit to Owmby washed-out by the wet weather.

Horncastle’s main problem against Haxey was a lack of runs and the experience of Paige at the top of the order will be a key factor.

All rounder Phil Roberts will also have an influential role to play but Horncastle will again be relying on a largely young line-up.

The match starts at 1.30pm and the Astro Bar will be open all afternoon for refreshments.
