Woodhall Spa Cricket Club has strengthened its team ahead of the new season by resigning former player Ricky Lovelace.

Lovelace spent the 2013 season at fellow ECB Premier League side Skegness CC, but has decided to rejoin the Jubilee Park outfit following pre-Christmas talks with head coach Paul Timby and club captain Jack Luffman.

Timby said: “Ricky is a top batter at this level and adds undoubted quality to our line-up.

“He knows what we expect from our squad now and has obviously fitted in well again during the early weeks of winter training.”

Indeed, the club’s senior players have started indoor training and the coach is happy with how things are shaping up.

He added: “The lads have worked really hard so far. We have done a mixture of fitness and skills based sessions so far and over the next few weeks we will build the sessions up a little as we head towards April and the start of the season.”
