Preparation for the new season continued as more than twenty junior and senior players from Horncastle Cricket Club visited Trent Bridge in Nottingham to use indoor practice facilities, used by the county and international squads.

The club also hired the services of Lincolnshire batsman and level 2 coach Ross Carnelley, who helped put the players through their paces.

The afternoon was part subsidised by Club President Michael Paige, who said: “It was great to see our junior and senior players mixing together.

“I’m sure everybody enjoyed the session and have benefitted from coaching provided by Ross.”

As a result of the successful afternoon, the club has revamped their practice nights for 2015. The weekly session now includes more fielding drills along with the usual batting and bowling practice. #

Anyone interested in playing for one of the senior sides this season are invited to attend the Thursday night sessions which start at 6pm down at Coronation Walk.

On Saturday an Horncastle XI host Boston in a pre-season friendly starting at 1pm, before the Saturday league campaign starts the following Saturday with a home game against Alford 2nds.
