Players and supporters of Horncastle Cricket Club turned out in force at the weekend to help prepare the Coronation Walk Ground for the coming season, all part of the NatWest Cricketforce Day.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) initiative is aimed at rejuvenating local cricket clubs and giving volunteers an opportunity to get involved in the sport.

Along with work on the square, sightscreens were re-erected and nets, scorebox and garage were all tidied ready for the start of the 2015 season.

The first match of the season is on Saturday April 11, when a mixture of Saturday and Sunday players take on a Boston XI in a friendly game down at Coronation Walk.

The Saturday league campaign starts the following week on April 18 with a home game against Alford. The Sunday team do not start its league season until May 3.
