Horncastle Town cricketers attended the annual Lincolnshire League Dinner and were entertained by guest speaker and former England Test batsman Chris Broad.

“It was disappointing how they fared in the World 20/20 in Bangladesh, they were not firing on all cylinders,” said Broad, the father of England cap 20/20 captain Stuart Broad.

“They have some rebuilding to do in all formats.

“It can’t get that much lower after this winter and the selectors need to find some new players.”

Broad’s speech reflected his own playing highlights including his highly successful tour of Australia in 1986/87. He also reflected on his role as a Match Referee on the Test Match circuit.
