The cricket season is fast approaching and everyone at Horncastle CC is charged and ready to go.

Senior training has moved outdoors and is taking place on Thursday evenings at 6pm down at the club.

Cricket force day was a big success with volunteers of all ages giving their time and effort to help the club get ready for the new season.

The season kicks off for the Sunday first XI with a friendly at home to Frieston, starting at 1pm at Coronation Walk.

The following Sunday, April 24, sees the Lincolnshire Ladies come to town as they take on the Lincolnshire U15 Development squad.

Club chairman Dean Wilkinson commented: “It’s very exciting for Horncastle Cricket Club to be staging this game and it just proves that if you take the time to look after the ground, you get rewarded for it.”

The Sunday first XI are then back in action to start their bid for cup success as they travel to Ancaster in the Premier Trophy on May 1.
