The Saturday team regrouped in 2016 after a couple of difficult seasons and gave youth a chance in the RP Transport Friendly league. This provided a good stepping stone for the club’s aim to be back in league cricket.

Since the season, meetings have taken place and the club have been accepted back into the Lincolnshire Cricket League for the 2017 season.

Chairman Dean Wilkinson was delighted with the league’s acceptance. He said: “It’s fantastic to be back in the Lincolnshire League where the club have played a lot of great cricket for so many years.

“This will boost the club’s youth policy and give these younger players the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills.”

The club are looking to get more support on board, with more players and more volunteers needed to help the club run efficiently.

The club’s AGM is to be held on Monday, November 14, 7.30pm at the Astrobar (Horncastle Cricket Club). Anyone is welcome to go along and help take Horncastle Cricket Club forward.
