All rounder Ashley Bullivant was the star of the show as Horncastle’s Sunday’s side clocked up another win in Division Three of the Lincoln and District League at Coronation Walk.
Bullivant took 3-22 to help restrict Nocton to 150-8 off their 40 overs and then cracked an unbeaten 33 in Horncastle’s winning reply of 151-6.
Not that it was a one-man show as Bullivant received tremendous support from his fellow bowlers who were backed up by fine fielding.
At one stage, Norcton were in deep trouble with three of their top six batsmen failing to open their accounts.
Apart from Bullivant, Nathan Whiting and Gareth Jones also bowled well to pile the pressure on the visitors.
Matthew Stephens (37) offered some resistance and number seven Mile Lynch hit an abrasive 44 to at least set Horncastle a challenging total.
Keiran Wilson (28), Jones and Ben Fidling all made useful runs to put Horncastle firmly on course and it was left to Bullivant to finish off the job, his 33 not out including four boundaries as the hosts made it home with more than four overs to spare.
