Two ounces settle it
Horncastle Angling Club’s Juniors fished for the K Lidgett trophy last Wednesday, with a sibling rivalry settled by just two ounces.
Ryan Goy took first place ahead of his brother Carl with a catch of 10lb 2oz, with Carl settling for second place with a 10lb catch.
Sean Chamberlain came third with 4lb 10oz, and Henry Todd fourth with 4lb.
The senior’s fished at Manor Lake for the J Nelson trophy on Sunday, with Darren Gowshall taking first place by a margin of over 16lb.
Darren’s total for the day was an impressive 71lb 12oz. Jay Barton finished second with 45lb 8oz, just four ahead of Stuart Topliss in third with 45lb 4oz.
Matthew Hassal came fourth with a total of 23lb.
