Reel success marked at Horncastle Angling Club prize night

Horncastle Angling Club reeled in a successful season with a prize night and the Matthew Hassall trophy.

The last match of the season for the Horncastle juniors over 12s category was won by Carl Goy with a huge catch of 13lb 12oz.

Runner up Henry Todd landed a 2lb 3oz catch and Carl’s brother Ryan came third with 2lb 1oz.

In the under 12s category, Liam Barr took first prize with a catch of 5lb and Hannah Todd came second with 4lb 1oz.

Joint third place went to Aron Bruce and Rosie Gowshall, both with 3lb 13oz.

Horncastle Angling Club would like to thank helpers Matthew, Katie, Nev, Frank and Steve for running the club each week and Jan and Les for the use of the lake.

They also thanked Kathy’s pet shop for supplying bait to all members and parents for donations towards the prizes.
