Despite a recent dip in form, the lads were keen to finish the season on a high.


Away wins at Caythorpe and St. Helens, together with an away draw on Sunday at a much improved Woodall side meant that a win was required on Wednesday evening against a useful St Helens.


Downpours all day meant some last minute pitch work was necessary to allow the game to go ahead.


Wragby soon adjusted to the conditions and passed the ball around well.


By half time they were 3 to the good with James Waters completing a superb hat-trick to bring his season's tally to 33 goals.


Second half saw a battling performance from the defenders as St Helens looked to use their pace up, but Wragby held firm as Curtis Scarboro and a 'goal of the season' strike from Josh Cosgrove saw Wragby to safety and also pass 100 league goals scored for the season.


Credit to St. Helens, who kept battling and scored twice as the game came towards a close, although these were cancelled out by two well taken goals from Stuart Parnell.


So a 7-2 victory for Wragby who took seven points from a possible eight and ended their first season in a tremendous fourth position.
