WOODHALL won the toss and captain Jack Luffman elected to bat in their win over Market Deeping.
Openers Andrew Crook and Warren Nel got off to a magnificent start with a stand of 122 – laying the foundation for a final total of 262-9 off the allotted 50 overs.

Crook raced quickly to 78 off 72 balls before he was caught attempting another six.

His innings included ten boundaries and two maximums.

Nel was a little more circumspect as his innings of 68 came off 102 balls and it too included ten boundaries.

Nel's was the second to fall with the score on 173 and from this juncture Conrad Louth played the main role during the final ten overs and he was out just before the close for a well constructed 53.

Teenager Sam Evison scored a quick fire 20 runs showing that he is developing different elements to his game.

Could Woodhall defend 262 runs was the question being asked - far too many times this season the team has let strong positions slip due to shoddy bowling.

Fortunately, all the bowlers performed well and the fieldsmen backed them up with some good catching especially by Louth and Matthew Sargeant, who both took two catches each.

Nel claimed four wickets, Crook two and the final two off consecutive deliveries were taken by young fast bowler, Connor Parsons, which means that he is on a Premier League hat-trick next week at reigning champions and runaway leaders Bracebridge Heath.

Woodhall won by 103 runs and take 20 points.
