TENNIS Buddies mens team made the short trip to Horncastle from their Woodhall Spa home to play Horncastles mens team in their first match of the season.
Tennis Buddies men had to adjust to playing outside after playing in the airdome all winter shielded from the elements.

Tennis Buddies' first pair - with the talent of 17-year-old Nick Roberts and the experience of Martin Briscombe - won their three matches comfortably with the closest match being against Horncastle's second pairing, pushing them to 6-3 6-4.

Tennis Buddies' coach David Williams teamed up with 14-year-old rookie Andrew Ponder in his first ever senior match.

Andrew was not phased at all and his well taught groundstrokes proved too much for the Horncastle pairs.

David and Andrew won all three matches with the loss of only four games.

Stewart Haynes and Graham Finney also proved too strong for Horncastle's first and third pairs beating them in straight sets, but they ran out of steam towards the end of the day and
were defeated by Horncastle's second pair.

Final score: Tennis Buddies 8, Horncastle 1.
