HORNCASTLE Cricket Club's latest overseas signing scored a record breaking 213 not out in the second XI's match against Cleethorpes last Sunday.
Suhail Chandhok, who came to Horncastle from Australia and is originally from India, has scored the highest total in the club's history and the second highest total in the league.

His mammoth 40 over innings included 38 boundaries and four sixes and puts him firmly in the club's record books.

An impressive opening partnership with Phil Roberts, who scored 55, set up a large total of 299 against Cleethorpes at their home ground.

Cleethorpes won the toss and will rue the decision after putting Horncastle into bat first on a hard wicket.

Horncastle skipper Brett Freeman was extremely happy with the debatable decision and the young Horncastle outfit completed the task by restricting the home side to 275 after an eventful chase.

Chandhok picked up four wickets to finish a good day and young Andrew Bullivant added valuable support to bowl well at the death.

The bowlers were well supported overall and with only 10 men on the field, Horncastle did well to complete an excellent win despite an unbeaten century by the Cleethorpes' Gary Cowlam.
