NO ONE could have guessed this game would be over 170 balls later with Woodhall Spa taking their third consecutive league victory and a maximum 20 points – keeping them at the top of the table with an unblemished record.

But the game did not start too well for them as wicket-keeper Tom Luffman, dislocated a finger in the third over.

Brother, Jack, took over the gloves and took a catch off the bowling of Matthew Sargeant to put home captain Hollingworth out for a duck, one of six such scores in the Sleaford line up.

Sargeant was back to his best and also trapped home danger man Bradford for just nine runs - the top score of the innings.

Scott took a good tumbling catch in the covers to help Dan Milgate to his wicket but the rest of the wickets, seven in total, fell to man of the match, fast bowler Aaron Onyon.

Onyon, in his first season for Woodhall Spa has made a great impact and the club hopes his good form will continue over the next four months.

His seven wicket haul today was testament to how straight he bowls.

Perhaps the only disappointment of his spell were the 16 no-balls and three leg side wides, otherwise his return would have been seven for just nine runs.

Small totals are not always the easiest to achieve but the winning line was crossed in just 35 minutes as opener Jack Luffman reached 32 not out - including a blistering six which fizzed through the car park and out of the ground.

It was left to last week's centurion, Conrad Louth, to finish the game off with a boundary straight down the ground.

* Woodhall Spa are at home to Grimsby Town on Saturday, 12noon start.
