WOODHALL Spa United missed out on the Division Two title... by two goals.

Newly-crowned champions Park Road Old Boys had finished their league programme the previous week and Woodhall knew that victory by five clear goals would hand them the title.

However, they were up against derby rivals Mareham United, who were desperrate not to do their opponents any favours.

At one stage Mareham were 3-2 up but Woodhall threw everything at their opponents and grabbed three late goals in as many minutes set up a grandstand finish.

But Mareham refused to buckle and pulled one back to eventually lose 6-3.

Jack Draper grabbed a hat-trick for Woodhall while Steve Lovett claimed a double and Daniel Wells also got on the scoresheet.
