FIVE youngsters have passed their black belt exams at Horncastle Ju-Jutsu club.
Amy Proctor, Daniel Proctor, Alex Clark, Tristan English and Oliver Stacey all took the exam in December at Horncastle Scout Hut, where the club meets.
Club coach, Tim Greaves, said: "They all worked very hard running up to the exam, with some put
ting in extra training to ensure they were ready.
"They have all trained for between three and five years at the club and have shown a lot of commitment to their art."
The club has produced many black belts, some of a very senior rank over the 12 years it has been in Horncastle.
Training is varied due to the extensive field Ju-Jutsu covers and also incorporates the use of certain weapons.
The junior class combines teaching the children the art of Ju-Jutsu with a fun element.
Mr Greaves said: ""We must recognise that children need to have fun.
"So with this in mind, we play Martial Arts orientated games at our classes and also have a merit badge scheme as an interim reward between gradings."
Anyone interested in Ju-Jutsu can go along to the Scout Hut, in Coronation Walk, on Tuesday evenings.
The junior class is held from 6-7.30pm and the senior class from 7.30-9.30pm.
Beginners are always welcome.
