LETTER: Fantastic time at Southwold open day

We would like to say after the ordeal of all the trials, tribulations, worry and anxiety during the past year, we are so very happy all the residents, staff and relatives had a fantastic time at Southwold Nursing Home for their open day.

There was a wonderful atmosphere and the residents looked relaxed and happy with everyone joining in the day’s activities.

Children from a local school gave a choral performance to be proud of and were a credit to the school and themselves

There were almost too many interesting events during the day to mention but all were very entertaining.

After the threats of possible closure (which everyone knew to be a travesty of justice) many people gave their time and energy to prove the nursing home is a haven for the residents and a safe and secure place to live in a loving and caring environment.

My wife and our family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Shailen, Sovida and the staff team for all their care and kindness they give to our mother.

When we visit her, she is always full of praise, saying she is made comfortable and happy. In her own words: “I love living here with all these lovely people.” Praise indeed.

We were always confident that Southwold is an excellent home and that justice would prevail despite that dreadful headline feature in January 2014.

A fantastic job, well done by everyone involved and we can now go from strength to strength in the knowledge that this is a service to be proud of.
