Crossing - Proposed site would cause chaos

I could not agree more with the letter in last week's Horncastle News about the problem with putting a pedestrian crossing in the Bull Ring.

It would be far too close to the junction of Boston Road and Jubilee Way and would undoubtedly lead to chaos, particularly at busy times of the day and during the summer when we have to endure a constant stream of vehicles heading to and from the coast.

I appreciate people would like to see a crossing introduced and it certainly makes sense in light of the problems parents often have walking their children to school in a morning.

I have witnessed the difficulties they face and let me just say not all motorists are obliging these days.

If there is a crossing, it needs to be on North Street.

Granted, it is not as busy as the Bull Ring but people would be able to cross safely without affecting the flow of traffic.
