Young people in Horncastle are being encouraged to get active and join Dance Factor street dance sessions taking place at Banovallum School.

The Horncastle street dance group is just one of fifteen across Lincolnshire that are part of the legacy of Dance Factor Lincolnshire 2015.

That was a large scale project which provided 10 weeks of free street dance sessions for young people across the region earlier this year.

The project culminated with a Grand Final in Lincoln in May, with the winning groups going on to perform at Lincoln Castle’s Magna Party.

The Dance Factor Party 2016 will be a celebration of all the groups that have continued running since the competition.

New young people are being encouraged to join the sessions for their chance to perform at The Dance Factor Party 2016.

That will take place at The Embassy Theatre, Skegness on February 27 2016.

Amy Dalton, committee member of community group InspireDance, who are leading the project, said: “I am really pleased that we are able to continue the legacy of Dance Factor Lincolnshire 2015 thanks to funding from Trusthouse and other regional partners.

“It was fantastic to see the benefits to hundreds of young people across Lincolnshire that Dance Factor Lincolnshire provided.

“Dance Factor Party 2016 will give those who took part in the competition, as well as a whole new group of young people, the opportunity to engage in a positive and creative form of physical activity .

“They can also celebrate their fantastic achievements in a fun, party style event next February.”

The Horncastle sessions take place at Banovallum School on Tuesdays, 3.45 – 4.45pm, until February 23.

They are open to all young people aged between 11 and 18 years old, and cost £2.

Organisers stress there is no need to book. Anyone interested can just turn up and pay on the evening.
