The Bain Valley Benefice – Tattershall, Coningsby, Kirkby on Bain and Roughton churches – welcomes its new vicar next week.

The Bishop of Lincoln will lead the service of installation and induction for the Rev Sue Allison at St Michael’s, Coningsby, on November 26 at 7.30pm.

“I am absolutely delighted to be here and I am looking forward to getting to know people,” said the Rev Allison.

Lincolnshire born and bred, Sue, 54, was ordained Deacon in Louth St James’ Church in 2006 and priested the following year in Lincoln Cathedral.

After service as curate for the West Grimsby team, she became Rector of Fotherby and North Somercotes, with Grainthorpe and Conisholme, and 19 months into the post was asked to be Rural Dean for Louthesk.

She was also the area’s Agricultural Chaplain, which has seen her involved with the farming community, giving plenty of hands on support, from lambing to mucking out pigs.

“I am looking forward to taking everything I have learnt at my last post to support and serve the ministry team here,” added the Rev Allison.

“I hope to deepen my own discipleship and encourage the mission activities that they already have in this group.

“I plan to get out on my push bike to go between the parishes, so look out for the purple bike with a basket.”
