Three teenage passengers have been arrested following the serious collision at Langworth level crossing yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

Lincolnshire Police said this morning (Friday) that an 18 year-old male and two females, aged 18 and 19, from the South Yorkshire area, had been arrested and are currently in custody.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old male is being treated at Lincoln County Hospital and a 16 year-old male remains at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham having been taken there by air ambulance suffering ‘serious’ injuries.

The collision occurred at around 2.30pm yesterday while a Vauxhall Corsa - which had allegedly been stolen from a neighbouring county - was being pursued by police, having failed to stop on request. Lincolnshire Police are working in consultation with the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

In the collision, damage was caused to the barriers and a residential building. The collision did not involve a train.

The A158 was closed yesterday afternoon and evening, and train services were cancelled between Grimsby and Lincoln.
