A farm trailer lost its load of straw bales near the market square in Tattershall today, Thursday February 5.
County councillor Colin Mair said it was “a miracle” nobody was hurt, as it took place in the afternoon as children were using the footpath nearby to walk home from school.
He told the News traffic was stopped for about an hour while the bales were cleared. Coun Mair added: “This is the second time in a year a load of straw has come adrift. The last incident was near the Post Office in Coningsby. Both were on a shallow bend on the A153, where the vehicle was going just fast enough to throw its load.
“We need a bit more speed control on this road before a tragedy happens.”
