Firefighters from Horncastle certainly went up in the world last Saturday - and all in the name of charity.

They climbed their high ladder 397 times in Horncastle Market Place to help raise funds for The Firefighters Charity.

The Horncastle crew ‘clocked up’ the equivalent of 8,854 feet - almost twice the height of Ben Nevis - and raised more than £270 in the process.

Judging by our photograph (above) they also got some pretty good views of the town.

Similar events were staged by fire crews at various other locations in the county, including Lincoln Cathedral and Wragby Market Place.
